The 2010-50 - No.45: Vi blir aldrig som dom från stan

"Ack, Sundbyberg" - Oskar Linnros.

We stay in Sweden for the debut solo single by Oskar Linnros. Oskar has had a meteoric rise to solo success in his home country over the past few months, and we can expect him to win lots of awards soon....anyway this anthem about the northern suburb of Stockholm had instant appeal and it wasn't long before the not-entirely-unattractive Oskar became the latest teen idol.

When this year started, the last thing I expected was both members of the now-defunct rap duo Snook who were one of my big faves back in 2007 (http://europecrazy.blogspot.com/2007/08/album-review-ar-snook.html) ending up as Swedish chart megastars, but that's what's happened, and that's been one of the nicer things about this musical year.

There's no official video for this song, but you can listen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGE5SfdSvXo
